Google has the most complete and accurate database of British companies

Google has the most complete and accurate database of regional business in the UK, said the Implied Intelligence company according to the results of its research. Earlier, similar comparisons appeared in the USA databases. Then become known that sites Yellow Pages and Bing still surpass Google for accuracy. And in the UK Google is the leading.

As part of testing in May the researchers created 1400 listings about regional companies. Each of them had its own website. Lists have been checked and verified manually. All listings included present name, address, phone number and additional information about the company (for example, check-ins).

All the databases that have been taken to the comparison of the study scored on a scale of 1 to 5 according to the following criteria:

• record coverage

• the number of duplicate records

• phone number errors

• address errors

• coverage re home URL

• accuracy re homepage URL

• number of records with the specified opening hours

• number of records with more information

It turned out that the Google data have the highest percentage of matches in the accuracy of data to the database compiled by the Implied Intelligence staff. However, Google had only 58.8% of 1400 records.

The second place reached website 192.com and – Hotfrog. Most of wrong phone numbers found in The Phone Book directory from BT carrier.
