One-third of browsers belongs to Google Chrome

Analyzing development of Chrome browser since its inception and until today, we can see the rapid growth that began with a zero position in 2009 and after nearly four years, the popularity of the browser has reached its maximum level up to 33.8%.

According to the research firm StatCounter, Google Chrome browser is the second month in a row has a leading position in the market and its share is growing with each passing month. The closest competitor for Chrome is Microsoft IE. It recently served 32% of the total browser market, but just a month ago, stayed at around 32.3%. Surprisingly but rapidly declines popularity of Mozilla Firefox browser, which positions fell from 25.55% market share and up 23.73%.

As for Apple Safari browser, then its positions are slightly improved. If in June it was at around 7% and now it raised to the position of 7.12%. But the positions of Opera browser is gradually falling. In June it was about 1.77% of the market, but now this figure has fallen to 1.72%. Approximately the same market share is occupied by all the remaining browsers.

According to OpenStat experts, Chrome browser rose to a leading position in Russia since December and has since has been keeping its positions. This increase in popularity of the browser is due to the fact that Google's leadership paid much attention not only to online advertising, promotion and use of TV and other offline methods of advertising.
