Google blocks Cuba from Analytics

Google Analytics is one of the most popular web analytics services. The fact that the standard version of Google Analytics is free and guarantees the service rapid spreading, but more than that, it is a very reliable platform that can provide a deeper understanding of internal processes and performance of your site. In addition, the service is installed by more than 10 million sites, indicating its incredible popularity.

However, if you try to access Google Analytics on Cuban territory, you will receive the following response:

We are not able to provide you with access to Google Analytics at this time. Communication was established between the current IP address and the state sanctioned by the USA government. For more additional information, see http://www.ustreas.gov/offices/enforcement/ofac/

In essence, Google, as the USA company supported by implementation of the USA sanctions against Cuba and, thus, doesn't allow access to the service from Cuba.

The Cuban press doesn't support such Google's actions, calling it “outrageous censorship.” The reports also notes that Google has blocked access to other services such as Google Earth and Google Code Search.
