Google acknowledged its mistake of Google+ priority in search results

google amit singhalGoogle's search chief Amit Singhal said that the company had found “a better place” for Google + results, following accusations from Facebook and Twitter competitors, that the search engine gives priority positions of its own social network.

Recall that in January this year, Facebook, Twitter and Myspace teamed up against Google's decision to show more content from Google + in search results, rather than other social networks.

At the same time competitors have presented a special tool “Don't be evil” (Firefox browser plugin), which allowed users to see “basic” search results without taking into account preferences in favor of Google's own social network.

The practice of promoting its own products in Google SERP is not the first time attracts public attention and is being investigated around the European antitrust authorities.

In an interview with The Telegraph, after the journalist's persistent questions on this topic, Singhal admitted that the search engine found for Google + results much better place than the previous one: “I think it's a learning process – even for us. We experiment, we learn, we improve – that’s what Google does”,– described the company's position Amit Singhal.
